Officials said on Tuesday that in December, an air passenger had opened the emergency gate, causing a stampede among other people on the plane. This incident of panic among the passengers happened in the flight of IndiGo Airlines. Aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has started an investigation into the matter and has sought a report from the airline. A senior DGCA official said that we are looking into the matter.
Panic broke out in the passengers
DGCA officials told that after the passenger opened the emergency gate, there was a sudden stampede among the people, after which the officials closed the gate and checked the pressure inside the aircraft. After this the situation was brought under control and people calmed down. The incident took place on December 10 in IndiGo 6E flight 6E-7339 going from Chennai to Thiruvananthapuram. The official said that after checking the pressure inside the aircraft, the aircraft was sent for flight.
Incidents of nuisance are increasing in flight
In recent times, many incidents of bad behavior of passengers in flight have come to the fore. Apart from the incident of urinating in an Air India flight, the incident of passenger's argument with crew members in an IndiGo flight also went viral on social media in the past.
Aviation regulator DGCA has asked airlines to be more sensitive towards their passengers, keeping in mind the cases of unruly behavior of air passengers where appropriate action was not taken by the pilots and cabin crew members.
