DGCA to Airports: After the incident of fire in SpiceJet aircraft, aviation regulator DGCA has asked the airport authority to adopt these precautions before the rains.
DGCA to Airports: A SpiceJet aircraft had to make an emergency landing soon after taking off on Sunday. It is being told that a bird collided with the fan of the flight. However, all 185 civilians going in the plane (SpiceJet flight accident) were taken off safely. Aviation regulator DGCA has now issued some important guidelines regarding this for all private and government airports in the country. Under this, special caution has been asked about birds and animals in the airport and its surrounding area.
The DGCA said in a letter that during the monsoon season, the activity of birds and animals increases around the airport. In such a situation, their presence can pose a serious threat to the operations of the flights. Therefore, all airports have been asked to review their wildlife management, which requires caution not only inside the airport but also outside the airport.
Caution inside the airport
Grass trimming and insecticide spraying
Frequent check of runway for birds
Take measures to exterminate birds
Continuous disposal of the garbage of the airport's operation area
Don't let water stagnate at the airport
Caution outside the airport
Discussions should be held with the Airport Environment Management Committee to reduce the risk of birds. The airport should be continuously checked and the waste should be disposed of continuously so as not to attract birds and animals. Get in touch with the local authority to keep animals and birds away.
