Maharashtra Budget 2023: While presenting the Budget 2023, the Government of Maharashtra has taken a big decision. Presenting the state budget, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis said that a decision has been taken to reduce Value Added Tax (VAT) on Jet Fuel. Now ATF will attract 18% VAT instead of 25%. The new rate will be applicable in Mumbai, Pune and Raigarh. Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia expressed happiness over the reduction in tax on Air Turbine Fuel (ATF).
VAT rate reduced from 25 percent to 18 percent
Scindia tweeted that reducing the rate of VAT from 25 per cent to 18 per cent would provide relief to the aviation sector. Right now the cost of fuel is very high. Airlines will get strength if the price decreases. He said that the reduction in the price will be beneficial and this is a positive step taken in the direction of air connectivity. According to this tweet, Maharashtra has now come under the purview of 19 states and union territories, which have changed VAT rates in the last 18 months.
What is the latest ATF price?
According to the information available on the website of Indian Oil, the rate of ATF as on March 1, 2023 is Rs 107750.27 per kiloliter in Delhi. Kolkata's rate is Rs 115091.33 per kiloliter, Mumbai's rate is Rs 106695.61 per kiloliter and Chennai's rate is Rs 112497.99 per kiloliter.

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who is handling the Finance Minister's portfolio, said that now farmers will be able to register under Insurance Crop Scheme for Re 1. An incentive subsidy of Rs 15 thousand per hectare has also been announced in the budget for paddy farmers. In the Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Janrogya Yojana, the insurance cover has been increased from Rs 1.50 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. 200 new hospitals will be included in this.
