Big reduction in tax rate on ATF in Maharashtra, air travel will be cheaper!

The new rate will be applicable in Mumbai, Pune and Raigarh. Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia expressed happiness over the reduction in tax on Air Turbine Fuel (ATF).


VAT rate reduced from 25 percent to 18 percent

Scindia tweeted that reducing the rate of VAT from 25 per cent to 18 per cent would provide relief to the aviation sector. Right now the cost of fuel is very high. Airlines will get strength if the price decreases. He said that the reduction in the price will be beneficial and this is a positive step taken in the direction of air connectivity. According to this tweet, Maharashtra has now come under the purview of 19 states and union territories, which have changed VAT rates in the last 18 months.



What is the latest ATF price?


According to the information available on the website of Indian Oil, the rate of ATF as on March 1, 2023 is Rs 107750.27 per kiloliter in Delhi. Kolkata's rate is Rs 115091.33 per kiloliter, Mumbai's rate is Rs 106695.61 per kiloliter and Chennai's rate is Rs 112497.99 per kiloliter.
