This is being done because of Aero India 2023. This will affect scheduled commercial flights between February 8 and February 17, 2023. The airport has shared information about this. Commercial flights will be affected for some time every day between these dates. The airport (Bengaluru airport) has also released its timing (Passenger Advisory) for when the airspace will remain closed during this period.


Sometimes for how many hours will it be closed

According to the news, the airport (Bengaluru airport) will be closed on February 8-11 from 9 am to 12 noon and then from 14 pm to 17 pm keeping in mind the airspace rehearsal. Similarly, due to rehearsal, the airspace will remain closed from 9 am to 12 noon on 12 February 2023.


On February 13 also, the airspace will remain closed between 9 am and 12 noon due to the inauguration and air display of the Aero India 2023 ceremony. Then between 14-15 February 2023, the space will be kept closed due to air display. Finally, on February 17, the airspace will remain closed from 9:30 am to 12 noon and then from 14:00 pm to 17:00 pm.


Terminal 2 has increased the airport's capacity

Terminal 2 of Kempegowda International Airport in Bangalore has started only last year. The terminal has been built at a cost of Rs 5,000 crore.
