Meghalaya Transport Corporation (MTC) officials said that an agreement was signed with SpiceJet on Saturday to operate these flights. Under this, SpiceJet will operate flights between Delhi and Shillong on Mondays and Fridays of the week.

Information about this agreement was given in a statement issued by the Chief Minister's Office. Accordingly, SpiceJet itself had approached the Meghalaya government. This agreement has been concluded as per the service conditions of Meghalaya Transport Corporation. SpiceJet flights are expected to start operating on the Delhi-Shillong route from February.
